What Shall I Do?

Luke 10:25-29 A man asks Jesus “what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” This question should be principle in the mind of every person. Jesus answers not by telling the man he has no worries because God loves him, but rather by pointing the man to the Law of God. Fulfill the law and you will live! So how are you doing at keeping the law?

Determined Toward Mercy

Luke 9:51-56 Jesus willingly set His face toward Jerusalem. He was determined to head to the cross for unworthy sinners like us. As they traveled toward Jerusalem, travelling through Samaria, a village rejects Jesus, and two disciples ask the Lord if they should call down fire from heaven to consume them. Condemnation is not the role of Christians. As Christ came in a mission of mercy, so we are sent to preach the good news in mercy.

Joy Comes Through Peace with God

Luke 2:14, Romans 5:1-2. Do you have peace with God? Real joy will only be found when we experience eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a gift of God’s grace which comes through faith and it is available to all. But you have to receive this gift for it to become your own. Will you?

Simple Faith

Luke 9:37-45 A father brings his child to Jesus for healing. He had begged the disciples to cast the demon out of his son, but they were unable. Power is found in our weakness, when we understand that we don’t have the power needed, but we simply come to Him who does and surrender to His will.

The Crucified Life

Luke 9:23-27 Self denial, daily cross bearing, and following. The result of the saving grace of our Lord. Though we are great sinners, we have a great savior, enough to save us from the consequence, the…

Jesus Identity Revealed

Luke 9:18-20 Luke’s gospel account has been building toward the climax of Luke’s purpose for writing the book. Jesus identity seems to be in focus, but more than just His identity. We see in this passage both a focus on “who Jesus is” and how men respond to Him. Here we find the most important question anyone could ever be asked, and it is a question everyone must answer: “Who do you say Jesus is?”

Engaging with Christ

Dave Wright, missionary with New Tribes Missions shares today’s message. Are we engaging with Christ in our personal lives, we can tell by evaluating the transformation of our lives.

Forgiveness: The Cancelling of Debt

Luke 7:36-50. Jesus, invited to a meal with Simon the Pharisee tells a parable of a moneylender and two debtors. Which one loves the moneylender more? Obviously the one forgiven the most. Jesus relays this story to the situation at that meal. A woman came with much love for Jesus because of the forgiveness she had received.

Young Man, Arise!

Luke 7:11-17. Jesus comes to the small town of Nain where He meets a funeral procession. Who is Jesus? Luke shows us the answer as Jesus raises this young man from the dead.

Judge Not

Luke 6:37-42. The most well known verse of the Bible is also the most taken out of context. What did Jesus mean when He said “judge not”. Did he mean never talk about sin? Never call anything wrong? Obviously, that’s not it. So what did He mean?
