Sermons on Grace (Page 2)
Peter’s Failure
Luke 22:57-62. An incredibly disappointing event as we see the disciples who had been really the leader of the twelve deny three times that he knew Jesus.
Dead in Sin
Ephesians 2:1-10 The good News of Jesus also contains some really bad news, and it is not until we understand that bad news that the good news will ever be desired or embraced. Once our spiritual condition apart from Christ is seen, the gospel does truly become the greatest good news we could ever hear.
Two Covenants, Yet Only One Leads to Life
Hebrews 12:18-29 God has only made two covenants with man. The covenant of law, and that of grace. One leads to death, and one to life. Which one are you under? (sermon itself begins at 19:22 mark)
Son of David, Have Mercy on Me!
Luke 18:35-43 A blind man calls out to Jesus for mercy, and receives far more than he expected!
God’s Sovereignty/Man’s Responsibility
Luke 13:31-35 Jesus warned that Herod is seeking to kill Him responds with some amazing truth that we need to be familiar with. God is absolutely sovereign over salvation, but that doesn’t not in any way mean that man is not fully responsible for coming to God. The Little Things
Luke 13:18-21 Jesus often used figurative language to help His audience gain understanding particularly with regards to the kingdom of God. Hope That Leads to Obedience
1 Peter 1:13-25 God’s gracious gift of faith leads to more than just eternal life, the hope that comes through His grace also motivates us to live in obedience to Him.
It’s All of Grace!
Ephesians 2:1-9. Salvation is of the Lord. every single ounce of it. We are saved by grace, and nothing but grace, and oh how we need His grace!
The Event and Purpose of the Gospel
If we want to tell those around about the gospel, we need first know the gospel ourselves. What is the Gospel? Why do we need the gospel? Why should we proclaim the Gospel?
Morality Doesn’t Save
Luke 11:24-28 Jesus teaches about a demon that leaves a man and finding no rest and his house still empty he returns and brings seven more evil demons with him. This was a man who cleaned up his life, he turned from immorality to live a good life. But this is no protection from demons. Morality is a dangerous thing apart from the spirit of God bringing regeneration. Sinners see their sin much more easily, but good people believe themselves…
