To Such Belongs the Kingdom

Luke 18:15-17 People bring their children to Jesus to have Him bless them, and Jesus uses this to continue teach on the topic of who enters the kingdom of God.

How Can a Man Be Right Before God?

Luke 18:9-14 Jesus speaks a parable to those who trust in themselves that they are righteous. The world is full of all kinds of religion seeking to answer our question, but the Lord shows that there is one way to be right with God, and it is not by our own merit.

The Kingdom: Part 2

Luke 17:20-37 Jesus teaches the Pharisees about the right now kingdom of God that is inward, then He turns to HIs disciples and teaches about the realized “not yet” kingdom that one day will come.

The Kingdom: Part 1

Luke 17:20-37 The Kingdom of God is the central theme of all the New Testament. The Jews, from reading the Old Testament scriptures knew much about the kingdom, and they had certain expectations about the coming kingdom of God, but they missed the most important aspect. Entry is only by new birth!

The Importance of Thanksgiving

Luke 17:11-19 Man’s condition, according to Romans 1, is such that we supress the truth of God, and refuse to honor Him and give Him thanks. Here in Luke 17, we see a picture of ten men, ten lepers who come to Jesus for healing. Our Lord graciously heal all ten. Only one of these returns to Jesus in a heart of praise and thanksgiving. Do we return to give Him thanks?

The God Who Sees Our Heart

Luke 16:14-18 The Pharisees listening to Jesus teaching on a godly attitude toward money, ridicule Him, and Luke tells us it is because these men are lovers of money, who seek to justify themselves before God and men.

Shrewd Faith

Luke 16:1-13 Jesus tells a parable to His disciples about a man who uses what he has at his disposal to make friends for his future. Jesus makes it clear that believers are likewise to use our earthly wealth to make friends who will welcome us into our eternal home.
