Sermons by Pastor Steve (Page 21)
Restoring Worship
Luke 19:45-48 Jesus clears the Temple of those buying and selling, and replaces these with His own teaching. Not everyone was in favor of the change.
Welcoming the King
Luke 19:28-44 We read in today’s passage of Jesus entering Jerusalem just a few days before the cross. The crowds are excited, the religious establishment is angry and Jesus speaks about what is to come.
The God Who Judges Rightly
Luke 19:11-27 Jesus tells a parable which reveals much about salvation to us.
Recovering the Gospel Session 1
Pastor Steve Flippin opens the conference with a message from 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 calling the church to return to the one and only message that pleases God and saves men. (video starts 58 seconds in)
The Seeker and Savior of Sinners
Luke 19:1-10 Jesus enters Jericho to meet a man God has planned for a long time to save. Jesus is the seeker, and He finds all He goes looking for and saves each and every one of them. He has to be, or none would ever be saved.
The Hope That Is In You
1 Peter 3:15 calls believers to be prepare to give a defence of the hope we have to anyone who asks. This assumes that as Christians we actually do have hope. But a generic hope can’t be defended, it must be a personal hope. Can we have such a hope? Yes we can!
The King is Coming
John 12:12-19 Jesus, after raising Lazarus from the dead, is followed by a massive crowd into Jerusalem for the Passover. Is this the promised king?
Son of David, Have Mercy on Me!
Luke 18:35-43 A blind man calls out to Jesus for mercy, and receives far more than he expected!
They Will Kill Him, and on the Third Day He Will Rise
Luke 18:31-34. For the third time in Luke’s gospel Jesus tells His disciples about His coming death in Jerusalem. That written by the prophets is going to be accomplished!
What Must I Do?
Luke 18:18-30 A ruler of the synagogue came to Jesus with an all important question. What must I do to inherit eternal life. In answering the question Jesus brings the man to the law. In the answer we see that if it at all rests on “our work” it only requires perfect law keeping and perfect submission to Jesus lordship. Those who oppose Lordship salvation should give a listen, because they might be surprised what Lordship salvation actually believes.
