Parable of the Soils: Part 1
Luke 8:4-8. In the parable of the soils we find one of Jesus best known teachings, but there are some cultural truths that if we don’t understand we could come to some faulty understandings from the passage.

Luke 7:18-23. John the Baptist’s ministry lands him in prison. Questions arise in his thinking about Jesus.
Forgiveness: The Cancelling of Debt
Luke 7:36-50. Jesus, invited to a meal with Simon the Pharisee tells a parable of a moneylender and two debtors. Which one loves the moneylender more? Obviously the one forgiven the most. Jesus relays this story to the situation at that meal. A woman came with much love for Jesus because of the forgiveness she had received.
Who Is John the Baptist?
Luke 7:24-35 John sent 2 of his disciples to ask Jesus if he was the expected one. Jesus addresses the crowd that heard the question from John with some question for them regarding John. The point of Jesus remarks were to show that John was indeed a prophet, and as such when he pointed to Christ as “the lamb of God” he was speaking the truth from God.
Are You The One?
Luke 7:18-23 John the Baptist in jail sends his disciples to ask Jesus one question: Are you the one expected, or should we expect another? No other person in history can we say was expected to come, but Jesus was. Very specific details of who He would be, what He would do were given hundreds of years before His birth. John’s question is of the utmost of importance. Is Jesus this one promised?

Revelation 1. Times look tough, but as believers, we must remember that the end is already determined.
Young Man, Arise!
Luke 7:11-17. Jesus comes to the small town of Nain where He meets a funeral procession. Who is Jesus? Luke shows us the answer as Jesus raises this young man from the dead.
Beatitude Living
Luke 7:1-10. A Centurion seeks Jesus healing for his slave who is at the point of death. Genuine faith is seen in this man, where as the Jews around him demonstrate a worldview completely the opposite. A living example is seen in the Centurion of what it looks like to live the beatitudes.
