Sermons on Prayer (Page 2)
Prayer of the Elect
Luke 18:1-8 Jesus tells a parable aimed at instructing believers to pray for the second coming of the Lord.
A Kingdom Divided Falls!
Luke 11:14-23 Jesus is confronted by some who claim that His miracles are works of the power of Satan. In His response, Jesus shows the absurdity and error of their thinking. A Kingdom divided cannot stand. There is a need for Christians to know when to separate, and wisdom needed to understand when we are to be united.
Teach Us To Pray: Part 4
Luke 11:5-13. Jesus taught the heart we are to approach the Father with, the petitions we are to bring before our Father’s throne, and here in today’s text the reception we find in our God as we pray. Ask, Seek, knock. Our Father is faithful!
Teach Us To Pray: Part 3
Luke 11:1-4 Jesus gives His disciples a model for prayer that focuses on God’s glory, attributes, provision, salvation, and protection. Today we look at the second half of this prayer and our asking our Father for physical provision, spiritual provision, and protection from temptation and the evil one.
Teach Us To Pray: Part 2
Luke 11.1-4 Jesus teaches the disciples to pray with a model of prayer completely focused on God. He is our Father, He is holy, He is sovereign ruler and we should pray that His kingdom would come, and His will be done on earth like it is in heaven.
Teach Us To Pray: Part 1
Luke 11:1-4 The disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray. Prayer is a matter of our heart connecting with the Lord. He is our Father, though not everyone’s, and He is our holy Father.
Simple Faith
Luke 9:37-45 A father brings his child to Jesus for healing. He had begged the disciples to cast the demon out of his son, but they were unable. Power is found in our weakness, when we understand that we don’t have the power needed, but we simply come to Him who does and surrender to His will.
Love Your Enemies
Luke 6:27-36. Jesus teaching in the Sermon on the Mount shows us what children of the Kingdom of God look like. It is a supernatural life that cannot be explained apart from the work of God Himself in your life. Jesus teaches that we are to respond to those who might hate us by loving them in return. Not just hard to do, impossible apart from His Spirit.
Hallowed be Thy Name
Matthew 6:9-13. The Lord Jesus modeled prayer for us. Every word jam packed with meaning. But are we going to that model to learn what are prayers should look like?
