God’s Sovereignty in Action
Luke 22:21-32 During the events of the last supper, Jesus informs the disciples that one of them is betraying the Lord. In today’s text we see the conversation that takes place after this becomes known.
Parable of the Wicked Tenants
Luke 20:9-18 Jesus tells a parable to the chief Priests, scribes, and elders of the people of Israel letting them know that He is fully aware of their plans to kill Him, and what this means for them. The parable of the wicked tenants is recorded in all three synoptic gospels.
Restoring Worship
Luke 19:45-48 Jesus clears the Temple of those buying and selling, and replaces these with His own teaching. Not everyone was in favor of the change.
The God Who Judges Rightly
Luke 19:11-27 Jesus tells a parable which reveals much about salvation to us.
Shrewd Faith
Luke 16:1-13 Jesus tells a parable to His disciples about a man who uses what he has at his disposal to make friends for his future. Jesus makes it clear that believers are likewise to use our earthly wealth to make friends who will welcome us into our eternal home.
Therefore We Have Hope
Lam. 3:20-24 Pastor Steve was away this week, and we were joined by Andrew Wright who share a message of great hope from the Word. God’s faithful is absolute and we can trust confidently in Him.
Faithful/Unfaithful Servants
Luke 12:35-48 Jesus continues His teaching on faithfulness to the Lord as we set our focus heavenward. There is great reward in faithful service to our King, but Jesus also teaches that there is curse for the unfaithful.
Trust in God!
Luke 12:22-34 Jesus teaches His people that they have no need to be anxious and be consumed with worry at the needs of this life.
Teach Us To Pray: Part 4
Luke 11:5-13. Jesus taught the heart we are to approach the Father with, the petitions we are to bring before our Father’s throne, and here in today’s text the reception we find in our God as we pray. Ask, Seek, knock. Our Father is faithful!
Your Name is Written in Heaven
Luke 10:17-24 Where is your joy found? Is it found in victory in the Christian life? Is it found in success in ministry? Jesus tells His people to rejoice that your names are written in heaven. A grand picture of God’s absolute sovereignty in election which is the only way true joy is even possible. Jesus also makes it clear that is bring joy to God to save all those He chose before the foundation of the world to write…
