By What Authority?

Luke 20:1-8 Jesus is confronted by the religious leadership who are seeking to destroy Him and commanded to tell by what authority He does the things He is doing? His answer leaves little wiggle room for these.

Go Out and Compel People to Come

Luke 14:15-24 Jesus continues to correct and rebuke the Pharisees who see themselves as guaranteed recipients of the Kingdom of God. Here we see a parable of great significance for us. The gospel invitation is generously wide. It extends even to the highways and hedges, and praise God it does!

Sign of Jonah

Luke 11:29-36 Jesus speak of the generation in Israel at His time as being evil. These actively choose to remain in darkness rather than walk in the light. They have been given ample evidence, yet they demand more signs in order to believe. Jesus offers nothing but the sign of Jonah, which might not be what you think it is upon first reading of this text.

Lambs in the Midst of Wolves

Luke 10:1-16 Jesus expands the ministry beyond the twelve apostles as he sends out the seventy to preach the kingdom of God. This is a critical mission, and one filled with much danger. He gives instruct on how to respond to those who receive the message, and those who reject. It would be better on the day of judgement for the city of Sodom them for those who reject the message of Christ.

Feeding the Multitude

Luke 9:10-18 The single greatest miracle, in terms of the number of people involved (other than the resurrection), is the feeding of the 5,000 men which is found in all four gospel accounts.

Sent to Preach

Luke 9:1-9 Jesus sends out the twelve to preach the good news of the Kingdom of God. There is much directly applicable for us today in the mission Jesus gives the apostles in this passage. Compassion for those we share with, boldness in presenting the message of repentance which brings conviction of sins. May we be faithful to our Lord and proclaim His message to the ends of the earth.

Be Careful How You Hear

Luke 8:16-21 Jesus continues his teaching of the sowers He is going to send into the world to proclaim the gospel. True believers listen evangelistically, making known the spiritual truth we have been taught. They listen practically by applying that truth to their own lives, and they listen obediently obeying the Lord in submission to His will.

Preaching and Preaching!

Luke 8:1-3. In this short narration we see much we can learn about Jesus ministry, and from that we know what our ministry should look like. What was Jesus methodology?

Great Commission

Matthew 28:18-20 Is our salvation all about us? Is it all about our going to heaven and our escaping hell? If so, why id Jesus leave us here on this earth? Why not take us straight to heaven?
