When The Fullness Of Time Had Come
Galatians 4:1-11. Now that we are heirs, we are no longer slaves. What does this mean? How do we arrive at this point where we are now in God’s family? How did we receive the Spirit?
But Now That Faith Has Come!
Galatians 3:23-29 If the law doesn’t save because that was never its purpose, then how is a man saved? Paul shows in his defense of justification by faith alone that it is by faith, it has always been by faith, and if any is ever saved it will always be by faith. It doesn’t matter who you are, faith is the only way to be right before the Lord.
Why Then The Law?
Galatians 3:19-22 Why, if we are saved by grace, and God had already established His promise to save the children of faith, di God then go and add the law? Surely he changed his mind, right? He decided to add the law because His plan changed, right? Paul answers in exceptionally clear terms. No! The law was never given as a means of giving life. The law has a wholly other purpose. It is to reveal and even increase transgression.
A Promise Which Cannot Be Annulled
Galatians 3:14-18. God is faithful to the promises He has made!
The Curse Of The Law
Galatians 3:10-14. Paul lays out the truth that the law of God holds no hope for the salvation of men because the only brings wrath and the curse of God. Jesus Christ however, redeemed us from the curse of the law, by becoming a curse for us!
Abraham Believed God and was Counted Righteous
Galatians 3:6-9. Paul moves on in his defense of justification by faith alone to an example from the scriptures, the ultimate example of Abraham himself. The Jews believed that in order to be a child of God, one must first become a child of Abraham, and that required circumcision. Paul shows this to be in error and a wrong understanding of scripture by examining Abraham’s life.
The Believer’s Expereince in The Spirit
Galatians 3:1-5 Paul turns in this letter to bring correction to the believers in the churches in the Galatian region for drifting into believing a message of error. They have been bewitched by a false gospel, and have fallen for its lies about ho a man is saved. I No Longer Live, Christ Lives In Me!
Galatians 2:20-21. Paul explains how it is that a man is justified by faith. How does it work. I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me!. What a monumental statement. This truth kills the no-lordship gospel, it kills the Arminian gospel. It is personal, it is for a particular people that Christ gave Himself. It is Jesus Himself who dwells in us, as self is dead to the law.…
Crucified With Christ!
Galatians 2:17-20 Paul gives an explanation of how a man is justified by faith in Jesus Christ. We are according to Paul, through the law dead to the law. We are crucified with Christ! So what is this crucified life?
